Take the Addictive Summer Reads blog hop to win free stuff!

Take the Addictive Summer Reads blog hop to win free stuff!

The long, sultry days of summer are here, and it's time to beat the heat by grabbing your favorite book and retreating under the shelter of an ancient shade tree. It doesn't matter whether it's a blanket spread upon the fresh-cut grass, a hammock strung between two oaks, or a fold-up lazy chair, books and summer are a tasty indulgence.  I don't know about you, but I'm a book hoarder. So much so that when we added onto our house, we had to add a second support beam in our basement because the weight of the bookshelves had caused our house to sink!

No matter how many books I have, there are always more which beckon to me to read them and learn about exciting places, interesting things, epic stories and great adventures.  Niccolo Machiavelli said it best, perhaps:

"On the coming of evening, I return to my house and enter my study; and at the door I take off the day's clothing, covered with mud and dust, and put on garments regal and courtly; and reclothed appropriately, I enter the ancient courts of ancient men, where, received by them with affection, I feed on that food which only is mine and which I was born for, where I am not ashamed to speak with them and to ask them the reason for their actions; and they in their kindness answer me; and for four hours of time I do not feel boredom, I forget every trouble, I do not dread poverty, I am not frightened by death; entirely I give myself over to them."

So … to celebrate the official kick-off of the summer season, me and some of my awesome author friends (collectively known as Addictive Reads) have pooled our resources to offer y'all the chance to win a $50 gift card, download some FREE ebooks, pick up other great titles at a substantial discount, and win other great prizes the individual authors have posted on their blogs.  To find out what goodies you can win, follow the Linkz to do the blog hop and follow the instructions to win. The Linkz are to your RIGHT if you're already hopping through cyberspace, or you can start at the beginning HERE.

What can you win here on MY blog?  Well first of all I've temporarily discounted the electronic version of  Angel of Death: A Love Story, which is usually $3.99, to *FREE* on Amazon.com in the United States and the UK, and *FREE* internationally on some of the big global players such as GooglePlay, iTunes, Kobo, and Smashwords.  Follow this link to the Addictive Reads website and scroll down to find the free download links to Angel of Death.

And to sweeten the pot, I am personally raffling off the following items here on my blog:

-A *FREE* autographed paperback edition of the first book of my flagship epic fantasy/space opera series, Sword of the Gods: The Chosen One

-A $5 iTunes gift card, three (3) total, with some swag

To enter to win one of these prizes, leave a brief comment in the thread below telling me what you envision for your dream hero, along with some way for me to contact you if you win (Facebook, Google+, email, etc.) and I will use Random.org to pick a winner at the end of this weekend blog hop on July 1st.

  3. Hah! Xandra and Jean! Yes ... we had to cut a 3'x3' square through our concrete floor and pour a new sub-pad and add a new concrete steel lally column as the entire house began to sink once we added the bookshelves. :-)

  4. Wow, you must have so many books to cause your house to sink lol. It's impressive & kind of sucks at the same time lol.

And thank you for offering your book for free,.. I grabbed a copy & can't wait to start reading. =)

And hmmm,.. what I envision my dream hero? He's tall, dark hair, blue eyes,... he's strong, hardworking, loyal, caring, honest, & dominate. ;) And I think i'll call him Liam, cuz I just really like that name at the moment lol.

Ok I shall shut up now, lol. I hope you have a great weekend!

    1. Tall, dark hair and blue eyes ... it seems we share the same dream-type :-)

Of course, the hero in my current WIP is a 'golden boy' and a bit of a jerk to start off. Hmmmm ... dominate? [*wheels start turning ... whirrr whirrr whirrr....*] :-)

  5. Ha. I hear you on the books. I've been banned from buying paperback because there's no more room in the house. Thank God for eBooks! LOL

    1. Yes, thank god for ebooks Kiru! But of course, it -is- possible to max out the memory on your hard drive! I have to shuffle my TBR list on and off my desktop to my Nook using Calibre as I have far more books than will fit :-)

    1. Yes ... I -do- enjoy my e-reader. I finally thinned out all my old Harlequin romances ... except a few by favorite authors.

  7. Holy books, Anna! :)

My dream hero...skipping the looks department (because of course I'd like him to be handsome), I'd have to say a man who knows his own mind but takes me into consideration and doesn't take me for granted. Someone who shows me he loves me every day in the little things he does.
